A true icon for Birmingham

By Rob Groves, Regional Director, Argent

Our public consultation exercise for Octagon, currently underway, will help inform our plans to build a landmark residential building as part of Paradise Birmingham.

We want to hear from you with your views on our proposals. Find out more here where you can leave comments and view lots of information about the building.

If awarded planning permission, Octagon will be a unique proposition not just for Birmingham, but for the UK.

We want to create a 155 metre high tower at the northern apex of the Paradise site fronting Summer Row. With 346 apartments – including units with affordable rents – Octagon will help meet the demand for quality accommodation in the heart of the city. It will also include communal space and resident amenities both at the entrance and at the top of the building.

The term icon gets banded about way too much when developers are trying to attract publicity to their projects. But for once, the word iconic can be very aptly applied to the building we want to bring to Paradise.

Taller than the nearby BT Tower, the tallest structure in Birmingham for the past fifty years, Octagon will rise to 49 storeys and give residents amazing, never-seen-before views across the city.

Paradise has always been about creating a very special new part of the city. A place where different aspects of our lives come together effortlessly and seamlessly. By introducing a residential element to the development mix, we hope to make the project even more sustainable and even more recognisable.

A building and a place all Brummies can be proud of.
