Yorks Cafe, the award-winning Birmingham coffee roasters and eatery, is the latest leisure operator to commit to Paradise Birmingham, the £700 million redevelopment of the heart of the city.

Yorks will open a brand new café and all-day-dining restaurant in the heart of the development on Centenary Way in spring 2022.

The new Yorks unit will be located on the ground floor of Two Chamberlain Square where the firm will join Rosa’s Thai café and, by spring this year, wine bar and restaurant Vinoteca.

Both Yorks and Vinoteca will be starting their fit outs this month with the aim of opening late Spring.

Born right here in Birmingham, Yorks currently operate from outlets on Stephenson Street and at Ikon Gallery at Brindleyplace in Birmingham, along with locations in Stratford upon Avon and Leamington Spa.

At 2,900 sq ft, Yorks’ flagship new base at Paradise will offer a spacious place for people to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and a cutting edge, all-day food menu.

As part of the unique leisure offer of Paradise, Yorks fulfils the need for all day café culture with a brand and a team that are already expert at creating their own top quality coffee and original food inspired by their travels around the globe.

Building on their reputation for coffee, bakery and brunch, Yorks will now be extending their offer into the evening with sourdough pizza, small plates, locally brewed beers and cocktails.

Paradise is providing a new home not just to Yorks, but also for a number of high quality operators, including Dishoom, Albert’s Schloss, Vinoteca and Rosa’s Thai. These venues give the estate a unique and enviable leisure offer for Birmingham.

As an important contributor to regional growth, Paradise is committed to creating high quality new leisure space as well as a range of new workplaces. New pedestrian squares and streets that create new connections across the city centre are also at the heart of Paradise.

Paradise Birmingham has already completed phase one of its development with One Chamberlain Square and Two Chamberlain Square providing some of the best views in Birmingham with stunning vistas across Chamberlain Square itself and of the city’s impressive Classical and Victorian civic architecture.

PwC, the leading professional services firm, moved its 2,000-strong team to One Chamberlain Square in January 2020 and has been joined at Paradise by DLA Piper which has taken occupation of the top two floors of Two Chamberlain Square with Knights, Mazars and Atkins also in the building, while Arup has committed to taking three floors of the new One Centenary Way building, currently under construction.

At almost 2 million square feet, Paradise will deliver up to ten new flagship buildings, offering offices, shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, a high-quality hotel and a 49 storey residential tower across 17 acres in the heart of the city.
