Jubilee cakes help mark the day

A range of Jubilee cakes were produced by local school children to mark the Platinum Jubilee at Paradise.

Brilliant entries, loads of hard work and quality cakes fit for a Queen were the hallmarks of our Platinum Jubilee Cake competition, thanks to our local partners Albert’s Schloss and pupils from Nelson Primary School in Ladywood.

A variety of imaginative designs were concocted before the baking stars at Albert’s Schloss, including head pastry chef Howing Lai, turned the designs into mouth-watering reality.

The superstar bakers from Nelson School also came up with icing and ingredient ideas that Howing translated into sweet perfection.

As well as representatives of Albert’s Schloss and the Paradise team, pupils from the school enjoyed a day watching how the cakes were made and finding out more about the Paradise estate.

Witness the best of the cakes in our gallery of images below.
