Part of the city’s business ecosystem

By Rob Groves of MEPC

The move by MEPC to new space at Two Chamberlain Square underlines our long term commitment to making Paradise the finest city centre development outside of London.

By taking office and meeting space in one of our own buildings, we are rightly showing visitors that we believe the estate is more than just a great place for others – it’s a great place for us too. The move is also about having a central base in the city so the development team can look to other opportunities across the region.

MEPC is part of Federated Hermes, one of the largest investment groups in the UK and across the world. With projects throughout the major regions of the UK, its long term interest in Paradise can be traced back to the very earliest discussions with Birmingham City Council in 2006.

We already have a long history with Birmingham and the West Midlands; a history we’re looking to celebrate and build upon.

MEPC’s holistic approach to investing means we are always free to make decisions in the interests of the project and the city we’re in. We look for schemes that make a positive social, environmental and economic impact on the places in which we work.

Like the location of our new office, we can do what’s best rather than what’s most expedient at the time. It means our new space sits right alongside our clients and occupiers, and we get to see our buildings and the new public spaces we’ve created all day every day.

As we move towards completing Phase Two and moving forward with detailed plans around Phase Three, a modern exhibition and meeting space will be invaluable in bringing this vision to life.

As a developer and asset manager, part of our role is to support real world contacts in an increasingly hyperconnected global setting.

Innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum, which is why we are so passionate about being at the heart of the city and region’s business ecosystem. When companies connect and collaborate with others – going beyond networking and actually starting to work together – all sorts of wonderful things can happen.

Paradise itself is a clear example of this ‘success through collaboration’ approach, and we are now seeking out further opportunities to bring this ethos forward.

Our job is to help facilitate and promote these connections, which is exactly why myself and the entire MEPC team are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our new space so they can find out more about what MEPC and Paradise has to offer.
