Marking the day
Paradise marked this year’s Remembrance Day with a service in Chamberlain Square that was open to all and featured support from Paradise’s occupiers and management team, which this year raised £257.50 for the Poppy Appeal.
Bugler Jonathan Clements, a director at One Chamberlain Square-based PwC, played The Last Post at 11am before everyone present paused for two minutes and thought about all those who have been affected by conflict around the world.
Specifically, the event resonates with the end of the First World War. Hostilities may have stopped at 11am on 11 November 1918, a long time ago now, but it remains an important marker in the history of our nation, our neighbours and people right across the globe.
It is an important moment in our local, national and international calendar, and one which we’re very proud to continue to support.
