A Right Royal Celebration

A wonderful celebration was held for the coronation of Their Majesties all over the weekend here at Paradise. Our gorgeous Chamblerain Square hosted a fantastic street party with many hundreds of visitors taking part, as well as a Wheelbarrow Garden competition with local community groups and schools.

It was certainly a party fit for royalty, with lively entertainment by the Bluebird Belles, street entertainment from the royal guardsmen and footmen, our popular selfie wall and scoops and scoops of free ice cream. Every visitor and attendee had a wonderful time and some even inspired the work of our caricaturists, who gave some of our guests a right royal treatment!

Members of the MEPC team visited the three winners of our Coronation Wheelbarrow Garden Competition and congratulations and a round of applause goes to:

St George’s CofE Primary who won 1st place and will receive a bug hotel wheelbarrow featured herbs, landmarks and traditional recipes from each of the four nations.

Nelson Primary School who will receive a worm observation window planted some of the kings favourite plants along with various red, white and blue flowering plants to represent the union jack.

St Thomas CofE Academy who won gardening tools, who were very keen to get involved in the coronation competition, included a riot of red, white and blue flowers.
