It heralds the evolution of the workspace, following the biggest changes in a generation, and will create the blueprint for future development within the city. By allowing organisations to grow, evolve and thrive in the beating heart of the city, but within a very organic and respectful space, the building meets the exacting demands of today’s business needs, as well as inspiring the next generation.

Reviving the city’s heritage

The building has been designed by pioneering architectural design firm Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS), leading practitioners of sustainable, democratic, and socially responsible design.

Inspiration has been taken from Birmingham’s tradition of beautifully crafted Victorian buildings, reinstating some of the natural terracotta tones and fine tracery and motifs that previously existed in and around Paradise into the design.

New standards for shared space

The flexible floorplates are designed with soft spots close to the facade to allow for interconnecting floors to support an internal collaborative approach.

The building also offers extensive cycle parking for up to 220 bicycles, complemented by well-equipped changing facilities that include 24 showers to support active and sustainable commuting.

In addition, every floor features inclusive, gender-neutral restrooms designed to ensure accessibility and comfort for all users.

One of the overarching concepts at Three Chamberlain Square is the connection to the outside with generous daylight provision through glazing on all sides and opening windows on all floors with a top floor terrace, will help promote wellbeing amongst all who work within it, as well as bringing fresh air, animation and interest into the building’s core.

Bringing the natural world directly onto office floorplates helps workspaces to feel connected to their wider environment through the use of natural, exposed, organic materials. This ambitious design creates a working environment that is as collaborative, forward-thinking and adaptable, while pushing sustainability aspirations with a low embodied and operational carbon design – all reflective of the value-led approach.
