Paradise is joining the city-wide celebrations for International Day of Birmingham (IDOB) on 24th and 25th September, with special dishes and drinks inspired by Birmingham available across the estate.

Taking place over two days, International Day of Birmingham is a celebration of the people, places, creativity, culture and character that make Brum what it is. Across the city, a packed programme of events will bring Birmingham to life through music, food, art, comedy, poetry, film, workshops and more.

At Victoria Square and the Council House, celebrations kick off on 24th September with the IDOB Opening Ceremony, featuring the Heavy Beat Brass Band, the IDOB anthem, the raising of the United States of Birmingham flag and plenty of Brummie spirit.

Across both days, visitors can discover everything from live performances by the CBSO and Birmingham artists to the Brum on Screen mini film festival, Brummie Bazaar, interactive art, poetry, exhibitions and creative workshops. Highlights also include The Brummiverse, featuring props and behind-the-scenes material from Joe Lycett’s United States of Birmingham, Birmingham-inspired food events, the Big Brummie Pub Quiz and The Big Brum Night Out.

Paradise will be getting involved with some distinctly Brummie flavours of its own.

At La Bellezza, indulge in a special Curly Wurly Gelato, combining toffee and gianduja gelato with a chocolate glaze and homemade fudge.

Over at Cow & Sow, there’s a trio of Brummie-inspired creations to try: a Brummie Cake small plate, Bournville Ice Cream Sandwich and Rhubarb & Custard Factory cocktail. Better still, £1 from every IDOB dish ordered will be donated to The Lord Mayor of Birmingham’s Charity.
