Award-winning restaurant Rosa’s Thai Café commits to Paradise

Paradise Birmingham has attracted its latest restaurant in the shape of the award-winning Thai eatery Rosa’s Thai Cafe.

The London-based company plans to open its first Midlands restaurant in Two Chamberlain Square later this year, and can’t wait to welcome customers to its latest outlet.

Directly overlooking the Grade I listed Town Hall and Grade II listed Council House and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Two Chamberlain Square sits at the very heart of Paradise with direct access onto both Chamberlain Square and Centenary Way.

The £700 million Paradise redevelopment is being brought forward through a private-public joint venture with Birmingham City Council. The private sector funding is being managed by the international business of Federated Hermes which has partnered with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) on the first phase of the development, while Argent is the development manager.

Rosa’s Thai Café offers vibrant, authentic Thai dishes in informal, relaxed settings. The 80-seat restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and will overlook Centenary Way. It will become Rosa’s first restaurant in Birmingham and the Midlands.

Whether customers are looking for a quick bite over lunch, an intimate evening meal or a feast with friends, Rosa’s will have everyone covered with a variety of fresh and punchy Thai dishes made by expert chefs. Customers speak of the restaurant’s intimate café-style vibe with attentive, quick service and the high quality British and Thai ingredients.

Gavin Adair, CEO of Rosa’s Thai Cafe, said:

“These are the key ingredients in Rosa’s best-selling Pad Thai dish, for example, which will be on the menu at our new Birmingham restaurant along with all our other regular favourites.”

“For us, the offer at Paradise was too good an opportunity to miss and we are extremely happy with the setting of our new restaurant overlooking Centenary Way. We can’t wait to welcome Brummies into our new space in Two Chamberlain Square later this year and look forward to showing them our authentic, award winning Thai food.”

Rosa’s Thai Café becomes the third new restaurant to commit to Paradise. Indian-Irani cafe Dishoom opened on the ground floor of One Chamberlain Square last spring, while Mediterranean wine bar and restaurant Vinoteca is also taking space at Two Chamberlain Square.

Rob Groves, Regional Director of Argent, Development Managers for Paradise, said:

“Rosa’s is an outstanding new addition to Birmingham’s dining scene and we can’t wait to welcome the team to their new home in Two Chamberlain Square. We’re confident Rosa’s Thai Café will be a sure fire hit with both locals and visitors alike. With Rosa’s joining the previously announced Dishoom and Vinoteca, we are very proud that Paradise is now bringing a broad range of great, new restaurants to the city.”

Councillor Ian Ward, Leader of Birmingham City Council, said:

“Paradise continues to go from strength to strength with further new office occupiers, retailers and jobs being attracted to the city centre. Our vision of a world-class, resilient economy spread across a number of key sectors, ensures the city is well placed to react positively to new opportunities in the months and years ahead. The strength of our city-region economy is proven by investments like this which are all about thinking long-term and looking to the future. Another new restaurant name for Birmingham is always welcome and we continue to look forward to Paradise’s ongoing success story and its positive impact on both the city and the wider region.”

At almost 2 million square feet, Paradise is delivering up to 10 new flagship buildings, offering offices, shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and a hotel across 17 acres in the heart of the city, together with the proposed 49 storey Octagon residential building.

Paradise sits in the country’s largest city centre Enterprise Zone and has already benefited from investment by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) in enabling and infrastructure works.
