Albert’s Schloss says ‘Ja’ to Paradise

Paradise Birmingham has attracted its latest leisure operator in the shape of Albert’s Schloss, the Bavarian style restaurant and bar.

Manchester-based company Mission Mars plans to open its first Schloss outside of the North-West in One Chamberlain Square this Autumn.

Directly overlooking Centenary Way and Centenary Square, the new space will allow Albert’s Schloss to establish its unique ‘Cook Haus and Bier Palace’ concept in the heart of Birmingham.

Albert’s Schloss will become the fourth new leisure venue to commit to Paradise after Vinoteca, Dishoom and Rosa’s Thai.

It will offer a unique eating, drinking and entertainment venue for Birmingham and welcome patrons for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks every day of the week.

The new venue is taking approximately 10,000 sq ft at the western side of One Chamberlain Square and becomes the second leisure venue at the building after Indian-Irani restaurant Dishoom, which opened overlooking Chamberlain Square itself in the spring of 2020.

The £700 million Paradise redevelopment is being brought forward through a private-public joint venture with Birmingham City Council. The private sector funding is being managed by the international business of Federated Hermes which has partnered with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) on the first phase of the development, while MEPC is the development manager.

At almost 2 million square feet, Paradise is delivering up to 10 new flagship buildings, offering offices, shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and a hotel across 17 acres in the heart of the city, together with the proposed 49 storey Octagon residential building.

Paradise sits in the country’s largest city centre Enterprise Zone and has already benefited from investment by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) in enabling and infrastructure works.
