F1® Arcade confirms Birmingham for its second venue

F1® Arcade, the first Formula 1® licensed premium experiential venue of its kind, will speed into Birmingham after a deal was agreed to bring this unique attraction to the city.

F1 Arcade will occupy an 11,000 sq. ft unit at Two Chamberlain Square at Paradise Birmingham, the £1.2 billion business, leisure, residential and pedestrian destination at the heart of Birmingham.

The move marks only the second UK venue for the brand after its first venue in London was announced earlier this year and opens later this month. Bookings for the London venue opened earlier this week.

F1 Arcade, with a main entrance on Centenary Way, will offer an immersive, cutting-edge F1 racing simulation experience for individuals and groups, with appeal for both corporate and social occasions across a wide ranging demographic, including families.

Driving video game booths, with full curved surround screen, steering wheel and pedals controllers and large speaker sound system set up over a large gaming floor.

It will feature bespoke racing simulators designed especially for the venue, featuring motion and audio-visual effects to immerse guests in the race.

The premium experience takes inspiration from the exhilarating world of Formula 1, with sleek venue design paired with best-in-class food and drink offerings.

The concept was created by Adam Breeden, the pioneer of competitive socialising with proven and consistent worldwide success in fuelling the rise in the competitive socialising trend, with notable venues including Flight Club, Bounce, Hijingo, All Star Lanes and Puttshack.

F1 Arcade will be in good company and will join existing leisure operators at Paradise, including Vinoteca, Dishoom, Albert’s Schloss, Rosa’s Thai and Yorks.

Paradise is also home to office occupiers such as PwC, DLA Piper, Knights, Mazars, Atkins, Cazenove Capital and Cubo across its first two office buildings, One and Two Chamberlain Square.

The destination sits at the heart of Birmingham and sees footfall of some 20 million people passing through the estate every year.

A lavish gold covered bar lit up with lights and shelves of drinks stacked on the wall behind. Next to the bar an F1 Arcade gaming booth is set up.

Ross Fittall, senior development manager at MEPC, development and asset manager of Paradise, said:

“F1 Arcade will be a major new attraction for the city and one that will appeal to all ages and backgrounds. This truly ground-breaking new leisure concept is coming to Birmingham in only its second venue in the UK.

The move follows further recent announcements around new occupiers and planning approvals at Paradise. Earlier this year, Birmingham City Council awarded permission for a new 17 storey, 152-bedroom hotel on the corner of Paradise Street, as well as new public realm across Phase Two and the next office building Three Chamberlain Square, while construction is already underway on the world-first pure Octagon apartment tower at the northern apex of the site.

At almost 2 million square feet, Paradise is delivering up to ten new flagship buildings and has already completed phase one of the development with One Chamberlain Square wholly occupied by PwC and Two Chamberlain Square providing some of the best views in Birmingham with the latest building One Centenary Square due for completion in early 2023.

The Paradise redevelopment is being brought forward through Paradise Circus Limited Partnership (PCLP), a private-public joint venture with Birmingham City Council. The private sector funding is being managed by Federated Hermes, which has partnered with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) on the first phase of the development and for One Centenary Way, the 280,000 sq ft first part of Phase Two. MEPC is the development and asset manager.

Paradise sits in the country’s largest city centre Enterprise Zone and has already benefited from investment by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) in enabling and infrastructure works.

F1 Arcade Birmingham is the second venue to be confirmed by the brand. The first venue opens to the public on November 24th 2022 at One New Change, St Paul’s, London, with further national and international expansion plans to be announced soon. Visit https://f1arcade.com/ to find out more.
